is a globally leading specialist in copper and copper alloys with international locations. Wieland offers materials, services, semi-finished products and components and, together with its customers, develops the right component for new technologies in future fields such as e-mobility, energy and data transmission and refrigeration and air conditioning. Alongside copper, Wieland also works with other metals such as aluminium, titanium and various steels.
Wieland has several subsidiaries worldwide, all of which previously had their own web presence. Following the new “ONE WIELAND” strategy, these were all to be integrated into the new website.
Data, data, data
One of the most important tasks in the relaunch was consolidating the data. Product names, numbers, descriptions and much more had to be reworked and migrated, content had to be unified and restructured, and the data for the respective contacts had to be aligned. What mattered here: a good user journey, so that everyone finds the content they are looking for. Interfaces to the PIM, ERP and CRM were integrated, as well as to the HR database for the careers section. Because of the many-layered requirements – e-commerce is to be integrated in the next expansion stage as well – the enterprise CMS IBEXA was chosen.

They still have their own domain, which leads to a landing page. But not only that – entering via a subsidiary’s URL has an effect on the website: the content structure, contacts and so on are passed through and served accordingly!
